I wanted to share something very dear to my heart with all of you. Vh1's Save the Music is one of my favorite organizations out there. Music saved my life and I'm sure in one way or another has affected your life. If I didn't get to go to my music class in high school I think that I would have skipped school even more than I did! ha! Really though, it was my one escape of the day everyday in school. I got to sing, I got to learn about the one thing that inspired me and made me feel like I was a part of something... I was a part of something bigger than my life. I was able to lose myself in beautiful music when I felt like I was losing myself. It centered me. To think that schools are not getting the funding they need to support music classes in school is just completely tragic to me. These kids aren't getting what they deserve. I could go on for days and write about where the money is going and what I think is unfair and unjust but that's not why I am writing you. I want you to be a part of something bigger than all the corruption I want all of you to try to make a difference in music education. Donate, do whatever you can to make sure that you or someone you know... the kids you babysit, the dorky kid in school who desperately wants to become a rockstar, gets the chance to learn about this beautiful art form. I couldn't be doing what I'm doing without the chance to learn about music in school. Please find a place in your heart for music.
